Kayla Laufer (she/her) is a contemporary dancer and choreographer based in New York City. She holds a BFA in Dance from the Johns Hopkins Peabody Conservatory and an M.S. in Computer Science from Fordham University.
Her choreography has been presented at the DUMBO Dance Festival, Young Choreographers Festival, Bloom Emerging Artist Festival, and Koresh Artist Showcase. In 2024, she was awarded the ETD New Choreographer Grant and premiered new work at the Martha Graham Studio Theater. She also participated in the inaugural ChoreoTech Lab at Jacob's Pillow, where she explored the use of AI and augmented reality as creative tools within the choreographic process.
As a performer, Kayla currently dances with Eryc Taylor Dance, where she also serves as rehearsal director. She has also performed with Chris Ferris & Dancers, Rebecca & Mats van Rossum, Vivake Khamsingsavath, and Lourdes del Mar. She is the co-founder of Melody in Motion, a collaborative project exploring the interplay between dance and live music.
