ETD COMPANY DANCERS

CHRISTINA CHARNY

Christina is a multidisciplinary movement artist with roots in rhythmic gymnastics and a foundation in contemporary dance and the circus arts. Beginning her journey at the age of seven as a competitive rhythmic gymnast, she was a part of the U.S National Team in 2013 and was invited to train at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid. She developed a strong technical base that evolved through formal training at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she graduated as a dance major.

She was a part of the inaugural class of 2023 of From The Soil Movement Intensive and went on to join them again in 2024. Her performance work includes collaborations with Eryc Taylor Dance, where she has contributed original choreography alongside artists Olivia Passarelli and Caroline Alter, and performed a featured duet choreographed by Taylor for the Russian play Baudelaire’s Passion. Currently, she serves as rehearsal director for Taylor’s upcoming work, The Knowing.

Expanding her practice into the air, Christina trains on aerial apparatuses, including the Lyra and hammock. She has performed original aerial works by ANKOLE Inc. as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, continuing to explore the intersection of dance, circus, and storytelling.

With a dedication to interdisciplinary collaboration and artistic growth, Christina brings versatility, passion, and vision to every space she enters. In her own words, “I am grateful to be able to continue working with Eryc Taylor Dance”.
