KAYLA’S CHOREOGRAPHIC STYLE IN 3 WORDS: ECLECTIC, EXPRESSIVE, AND INNOVATIVE.

Kayla Laufer (she/her), a recent graduate of Johns Hopkins Peabody Conservatory with a BFA in dance, is a contemporary/modern dancer whose artistry defies conventional boundaries. Based in New York City, Kayla passionately explores the convergence of technology and dance, viewing movement as an infinite form of expression. Currently, she is a member of the Chutzpah Dance Company and actively engages in various dance projects.

Throughout her tenure at Peabody Conservatory, Kayla has performed in works by acclaimed choreographers such as Christian Denice, Madison Hicks, Mike Esperanza, Sorah Yang, Tracie Stanfield, Katherine Fisher, and Kevin Iega Jeff, among others. Her training extends to studying with luminaries like Sidra Bell, Parsons Dance, and Emerge125, and she recently enriched her skills at Orsolina28 under the guidance of Jacob Jonas.

Beyond the dance realm, Kayla is concurrently pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at Fordham University. She brings a unique blend of artistic and technical prowess to her endeavors, having interned with Parsons Dance Company, where she gained valuable experience in arts administration and SalesForce. In addition to her commitment to dance and technology, Kayla has demonstrated leadership by founding the We Are Queens Chapter at Johns Hopkins University. This nonprofit organization focuses on empowering women in dance, showcasing Kayla's dedication to fostering inclusivity and empowerment within the dance community.

THE CAST

Kris Beeson

Khris is originally from Kernersville, NC, where she trained in rhythm tap, jazz, ballet and modern dance. She later moved to Dallas, TX, where she received her BFA from Southern Methodist University. Khris has performed premieres by Desmond Richardson, Victor Rottier, and Take Ueyama, as well as works by Robert Battle, Medhi Walerski, and Brandi Coleman. She has received additional training from workshops with Orsolina28 (Jacob Jonas and Ballet BC programs,) the b12 summer main event, NVA + Guests, and the Martha Graham School. As a professional, Khris has worked as a dancer and rehearsal assistant for the NYC-based company Take Dance. Most recently, she restaged one of Take Dance’s original works on BalletX, which is set to premiere in April 2024. Khris also creates her own work with her project based company. She will be premiering "Body of Work," an anthology of short dance films, in March 2024.

Sarina Gonzalez

Sarina Gonzalez (she/her) is a Latina dancer/singer/actor from New York. She graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance, and minor in mathematics. While at NYU, she performed in St Ann's Warehouse's Oklahoma!, and was the dance captain of Tisch New Theatre’s Legally Blonde. Claudia Logi

Claudia Logi began her training at an early age in classical ballet at The American Academy of Dance of Paris. Then, she joined the pre-professional ballet program at L'Académie de Danse de Paris. Later on she relocated to New York City to train at The Ailey School. She has performed repertoire by Jie-Hung Connie Shiau, Paul Taylor, Jacob Jonas, Johan Inger and Jiří Kylián. She is also a choreographer and has had the opportunity to showcase her work in various institutions and festivals such as Mignolo Art Center, PMT House of Dance, Mana Contemporary and The Ailey School.
