MEET THE ETD OUTREACH TEAM

Emma Chart

Originally hailing from a small mountain town in rural British Columbia, Canada, Emma arrived in New York City in 2016. After attending The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Emma found a deep passion for teaching through supporting theater and improv workshops with the Stella Adler Arts Justice Outreach program. Her studies in acting, drama therapy, early childhood mental health, and decolonial/gender studies have led to her teaching. She has worked with youth through to seniors and believes in the power of intergenerational community building and healing through art-making. With a keen sense for storytelling, Emma combines her passions for social justice, visual arts, painting, drawing, and writing poetry with an embodied theater practice. She recognizes art's healing modalities and the need to express our unique voices and share our gifts with the world. Emma enjoys creating accessible, whimsical, and out-of-the-box artistic experiences with her participants. She has the joy and honor of teaching at Eryc Taylor Dance Outreach, Stella Adler Arts Justice, Child's Play New York, and Playground Opera.
