MEET THE ETD OUTREACH TEAM
Gabriel Sanchez
Gabriel (gah-bree-El) Sanchez has been dancing since his/their senior year in high school. Gabriel was a working dancer in his/their community back in El Paso, TX, performing for the local dinner theater, the Gilbert and Sullivan Company, and the El Paso Performing Arts Association. He/They moved to New York City in 2012 and danced with Touch Theory Dance, Estado Flotante, and other local companies. Gabriel recently graduated from NYU Steinhardt with a master’s in dance education in the Professions and a certification to teach dance in public schools. Gabriel currently works as a Teaching Artist with Calpulli Mexican Dance Company with whom he/they also dances for. Gabriel also teaches dance at the YMCA in Long Island City.
Additionally, he/they is a substitute teacher for the Department of Education. Gabriel is also a proud member and board member of the Queer Big Apple Corps Marching Band. He/They is pleased to be part of the ETD outreach organization and looking forward to sharing his/their passion of dance with more people.
